WASHINGTON, N.C. -- Last Saturday, the final Shrine Bowl Combine was held at Washington High School. Several of the best prospects in the state participated and did not disappoint.

New Bern (N.C.) cornerback Mike Hughes had a huge day. Checking in at 5-foot-10 and 179 pounds, he posted a 4.34-second 40-yard dash, 4.27-second 20-yard shuttle, 10-foot, 3-inch broad jump and 25 reps of 185 pounds on the bench press. Hughes has yet to name a leader, but said Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina will be some of the schools that make the cut when he narrows his list later... Recommended Stories
