| Kates can be great, but he has some improvements to make. At the Elite College Combine he needs to improve his lateral speed. After watching ape of Kates, it is apparent he must use his physical gifts and dominate consistently. He can be a force if he wants to. |

| As a senior, Kates earned first team Class AAAA Associated press All-State.
Kates reports a 2.7 GPA/May 7 first-time SAT.
Kates: "One of my strengths is that it takes two people to block me every time. I want to lose about 10-15 lbs. Then I'd be unstoppable."
