He had not yet officially called N.C. State head coach Tom O'Brien, but planned to do so sometime Saturday.
The senior, who scored four touchdowns and passed for 296 yards in his season opener, said that it had been his dream to play for the Wolfpack.
"The whole summer I've been thinking about where I wanted to go," Taylor said. "I really like State and all the coaches there."
Taylor was being considered by other schools, including East Carolina, Wake Forest, and Clemson, but once he heard word from N.C. State it did not take him long to make up his mind.
