"Yes, NC State did just offer Brian a scholarship," said his mother, Julie Taylor. "I'm sure he is happy about it, but right now he's focused on his upcoming game.
"I don't know if he has a timeline for making a decision, but he's focused right now on tonight's game which is Harnett Central's first of the year."
Harnett Central opens the 2010 season tonight at Apex (NC) High School.
One of the top quarterbacks in the state, Taylor has posted a 27-3 record in three seasons as a starter for the Trojans. As a junior he passed for over 2,000 yards and 16 touchdowns while rushing for another 1,000 yards and 11 scores on the ground.
North Carolina was the first school to offer Taylor a scholarship, and East Carolina and Clemson followed in the spring.
Checking in at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, Taylor has been timed as fast as 4.62 in the 40-yard dash. He is also a standout on the baseball diamond, as he finished with an ERA of 0.98 and a 5-1 record on the mound while hitting .480 with ten home runs in 2010.
Pack Pride will have more on Taylor in the near future so stay tuned!
