Uchebo Headed to Word of God

Dr. Frank Summerfield informed Pack Pride that Joseph Uchebo has officially enrolled at Raleigh (NC) Word of God Christian Academy.

"Joseph Uchebo has elected to enroll at Word of God Christian Academy, and we are pleased to have him," said Dr. Summerfield, the school's founder. "Joseph originally expressed interest in enrolling at Word of God last year, but we were unable to finalize the official documentation in time for his enrollment.

"I'm not sure of the specific date, but Joseph has been enrolled for a couple of weeks now. We look forward to mentoring him as he matures into a young man."

Uchebo played last season at Oak Ridge (NC) Academy, but his aunt, Amake Uchebo, stated yesterday that he would no longer attend Oak Ridge. Previously he indicated that he would be a member of the 2011 class, but with him transferring to Word of God is that still the case?

"The current intention is for Joseph to be a senior this upcoming year," said Dr. Summerfield. "However, that isn't definitive at this point. We want to fully evaluate Joseph's situation and make sure that is the best move for him academically.

"Once we have thoroughly examined his academic credentials and have a good grasp of where he currently stands we will be able to accurately determine what is best for Joseph. With that being said, the current plan is for him to be a member of the upcoming graduation class."

Uchebo will continue to play this summer on the AAU circuit with the CP3 All-Stars. Dr. Summerfield stated that Uchebo remains committed to NC State.
