According to sources close to the situation, charges against NC State defensive tackle J.R. Sweezy were dismissed today in an Iredell County courthouse.
Sweezy had previously been charged with misdemeanor assault and battery and misdemeanor larceny following an incident that occurred in Mooresville, North Carolina in mid-March.
He was suspended indefinitely from the team following the incident by head coach Tom O'Brien. A month later Sweezy involved in another legal situation when he and three of his teammates were issued charged following a search of their apartment by law enforcement officials.
The four teammates face misdeameanor drug charges and the case was recently continued until June 11th, according to Wake County court records.
A rising redshirt junior, Sweezy was listed as a starter at defensive tackle for the Wolfpack. He totaled 26 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, and 3.5 sacks as a sophomore in 2009.
