CP3 All-Stars center Joseph Uchebo confirmed that he would be reclassifying to the 2011 class following his opening game of the 2010 Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions.

Uchebo, a NC State commitment, had been a member of the 2012 class but will instead be graduating a year earlier and is now NC State's first verbal in the 2011 class.

"When I came from Nigeria I was supposed to be in the 11th grade," said Uchebo. "But my coach put me back in the ninth grade. When my school found out about my transcript... they want me to be in the 12th grade next year."

He committed to NC State last fall after a couple of unofficial visits. Uchebo maintained that he is committed to NC State and believes the program is headed in the right direction.

"I think they have a good program," he said of NC State. "I think that place would be good for me to go."

Still new to the game, Uchebo has only been playing basketball for three years. The 6-foot-11, 235-pounder is a physical presence in the paint and has a good feel for the game. He has solid hands and is a strong passer for a young big man. However he knows there is room for improvement.

"I think I need to work on my jumpshot and my free throw shooting."

He unofficially totaled seven points, 13 rebounds, and two blocks in the blowout win for the CP3 All-Stars.

CP3, which features NC State targets Jacob Lawson and Chris Wilson along with UNC commitment P.J. Hairston, Virginia Tech commitment Marquis Rankin, and Xavier verbal Dezmine Wells, returns to the court Saturday morning at Cameron Indoor Stadium at 11:00 before finishing up pool play with a 4:45 game against the Nashville Celtics in NC State's Dail Center.

Pack Pride will have more coverage of Uchebo in the near future so stay tuned!
