Baker Granted a Sixth Year

NC State head coach Tom O'Brien announced that RB Toney Baker has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA.

NC State head coach Tom O'Brien announced after practice today that RB Toney Baker has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA.

O'Brien stated that he had yet to speak to Baker about the NCAA's ruling.

"Toney Baker has been granted a sixth year, " said O'Brien. "That came through the NCAA. We're not going to do anything until after the season. We'll sit down and talk about it. We'll see where he wants to go. We still have two games to play and there's time for all that."

Baker is NC State's leading rusher this season with 664 yards on 133 carries while accounting for six touchdowns. He has also recorded 24 pass receptions for 306 yards and another three scores.
