Pack Lands Georgia Sleeper

NC State has dipped into Georgia again for it's latest football commitment. Pack Pride has the lowdown on Portal (GA) standout Theo Rich.

NC State landed it’s fifth commitment from the state of Georgia this past week when Portal (GA) standout DE Theo Rich pledged to the Wolfpack.

At 6-2, 225 pounds, Rich boasts 4.8-second speed in the 40 and saw double-duty this year for his Portal squad, lining up at both wide receiver and defensive end. Although his squad finished just 1-9, Rich still managed to catch the attention of NC State tight end’s coach Jim Bridge along with interest from Buffalo, Georgia State and Purdue. Recruited as a defensive end by State, the senior defender made the decision last Thursday to continue his football career with the Wolfpack.

“Yes sir, I committed to NC State last Thursday,” said Rich. “Coach Bridge was really excited when I told him and he told me I was going to have to learn how to make the wolf sign.

“State has been recruiting me for about two months. I’ve been researching them a lot online and I know it’s a good place for me to go to get a degree for after football.”

Rich has not yet visited NC State but plans to make his official visit to Raleigh later this month or sometime in December.

Stay tuned as Pack Pride will have much more on Theo Rich.
