RALEIGH -- NC State head coach Tom O'Brien met with the media following Thursday's practice, as the ACC game against Duke is a couple of days away.

Tom O'Brien

"I think it's more for the staff. They don't get an opportunity... you give them an opportunity to come in a little later today and leave tonight and go be with their family."

"A lot of tight ends now are flexed or standing up."

"You've got to be involved in pass protection in some schemes... it's a great advantage if you have more than one."

"Right now we're not in to rotating and worried about getting him snaps. We got him almost close to 50 snaps in the first three games of the year. We wanted to get him in the first game of the year because that was his first experience.

"Right now the emphasis is on the continuity of the offense and playing the football game as is."

"He's got to be ready to go in as a moment's notice."
