NC State tailback Andre Brown was selected in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the New York Giants.
The Giants chose Brown with the 29th pick in the fourth round, the No. 129 overall selection. Brown was the ninth tailback picked in the draft and the first from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
During his career, Brown was one of the most versatile backs in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Although he never rushed for 1,000 yards in a season, Brown split snaps with Toney Baker and Jamelle Eugene all four years he was in Raleigh, never totaling more than 175 carries. As a senior, he rushed for 767 yards and seven touchdowns, and he was also the Wolfpack's second-leading receiver, totaling 29 catches for 309 yards and another two scores.
