Tyler Brosius is one of the top quarterbacks in North Carolina for the class of 2010. Here are…
Pack is an Early Player for Brosius
Some high school quarterbacks would probably take a quick look at the NC State depth chart and immediately feel a little overwhelmed. After all, the prospect of competing for time against Russell Wilson -- arguably the top returning player in the ACC -- and the talented Mike Glennon is daunting. It's not going to deter Waynesville (N.C.) Tuscola junior quarterback Tyler Brosius, though. The 6-3, 210-pound quarterback is confident in his abilities and has a high interest level in the Wolfpack. Brosius attended NC State's recent Junior Day and spoke with Pack Pride about how it went. “Yes sir, I had a good time there last Saturday," Brosius said. "It was pretty good. I liked it a lot. When I first got there it was kind of a meet and greet. We met all the coaches from the staff ... the offensive and the defensive coaches, my recruiter ... everybody. "It was really cool to meet everyone and see how they are. After that we went upstairs to meet coach (Tom) O'Brien and that was an awesome experience. I talked to him for about 15 minutes and he's just a down to earth guy. He kind of let me know how the recruiting process would go for a quarterback. "They've seen everything they needed to see on film. They just want to see me throw in person. I'm going to their one-day junior camp in June, I think. That's when I'll have a chance to show them what I can do." Brosius isn't afraid of a little competition, either. "I don't think it'll be a big thing," he said. "I'm all about competition. I like being the underdog and I'd feel comfortable being the guy trying to nip at their heels while I work my way up. It's taken me pretty far. "It's definitely one of the schools I'll consider. They seem like they're really interested. It's a lot to think about so I'm taking my time. Wherever I choose will be my home for the next four years. It's definitely a school to consider." Brosius recently returned from a junior day at Wake Forest. How did that go for him? "I enjoyed it a lot there, just kind of getting a feel for the college experience. I really want to tour every school before I make a legit commitment. "I think I'm going to something similar at Virginia Tech but I don't know when that is. I'll go to Virginia, too, and maybe Wisconsin. Wisconsin came to watch me throw before I went to NC State. Since they've seen me throw in person they just want me to come up and look at the campus. ECU did the same thing. They want me to tour their campus, too, and see if it's a place I'd consider. "UT-Chattanooga is trying to get me down there as soon as possible and they'll probably offer." As a junior, Brosius threw for better than 2,300 yards and 27 touchdowns.
