NC State kicked off the 2008-09 basketball season today with an open practice, but the recruits behind the bench probably drew the biggest cheers of the day.
The two-hour event included a lengthy scrimmage, and Sidney Lowe's staff was hosting Atlanta (GA) forward Derrick Favors, the No. 1 player in the country. Also in attendance was Raleigh (NC) Word of God point guard John Wall, the nation's No. 2 player in the 2009 class, and 2010 commitment C.J. Leslie.
