Notebook: Graham Sets Kickoff Record
T.J. Graham

RALEIGH, N.C. -- In NC State's 38-31 loss to Boston College, freshmen T.J. Graham and Russell Wilson had big days for the Wolfpack.
Freshman
T.J. Graham
set a new school record for the longest kickoff return in school history, when he returned one for 100 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. The previous long was Darrell Blackman last year against Clemson for 99 yards. Graham’s 100-yard kickoff return was also the third longest overall play in school history.
Graham finished the game with 160 yards in kickoff returns for the game, the fourth-highest total in a single game. Graham also moves into fifth place for most kickoff return yards in a season (628).
Quarterback
Russell Wilson
and tight end
Anthony Hill
both returned from injuries today. Wilson missed last week’s South Florida contest, and Hill had not played since the season opener at South Carolina.
Wilson threw his longest pass of his career, a 61-yard touchdown pass to
Owen Spencer
in the third quarter. That was the first TD pass of at least 50 yards for the Pack since the 2005 game at Boston College.
That touchdown was the first career TD for Spencer. He also set a new career-high with 102 receiving yards, the first time he has gone over the century mark. He is the first receiver to have 100 yards since
Donald Bowens
last year versus Virginia, a span of 10 games.
Wilson also threw for a career-best 218 yards.
Wilson also scored his first career rushing touchdown in the first quarter on a 10-yard scramble. He would add another in the fourth quarter, becoming the first NC State QB to rush for two touchdowns in a game since Philip Rivers did so against North Carolina in 2003.
A total of 10 different Wolfpack players caught a pass today.
NC State put together a 16-play drive taking 8:46 off the clock that resulted in a 22-yard
Josh Czajkowski
field goal in the second quarter. The 16 plays in that drive marked the most in a single drive for NC State since the 2002 Florida State game (18).
Boston College’s 21 points in the first quarter were the most given up in the opening quarter for NC State since Minnesota scored 21 in the 2000 Micronpc.com Bowl.
Boston College’s
Chris Crane
threw for 428 yards, the most for an opposing player since the 2003 Texas Tech game.
Junior safety Clem Johnson recorded the first interception of his career. Johnson didn't play in the first four games after breaking his jaw during fall practice, and the junior college transfer also had a big day on special teams.
NC State tailbacks Jamelle Eugene and Andre Brown totaled just six carries.
