Disregard everything you saw on offense Saturday during N.C. State's win over William & Mary 34-24. Although redshirt freshman Russell Wilson didn't play at quarterback after suffering a concussion nine days earlier, he will be starting Saturday at Clemson. He should be able to run the ball out of the read-option scheme more effectively than Daniel Evans or Harrison Beck. Although Beck threw for 246 yards in just over two quarters against W&M, he will be the backup at Clemson. Read More

Favre good for Cotchery

Former N.C. State star wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery needed two series to benefit from the New York Jets’ acquisition of quarterback Brett Favre. Only 7 minutes into the Jets’ NFL opener Sunday at Miami, Cotchery hauled in a 56-yard touchdown strike from Favre on an up-and-out pattern that caught the Dolphins’ secondary flat-footed. The play gave the Jets a 7-0 lead en route to an eventual 20-14 win. Read More
