RALEIGH, N.C. -- Sophomore cornerback DeAndre Morgan discusses NC State's defensive play, how the team can keep from wearing down late in games, and his brother's recent performance following Wednesday's practice.

DeAndre Morgan Audio

On his first collegiate interception:
“I was talking all week about how I did against scout team and how the coaches put me in position to make a play on the post so I just felt like it was good. Then to break that barrier for my first pick, that's nice... it felt real good.”

On the defensive line's play:
“The defense line is just excellent as far as pressure and everything. They made our job a lot easier – as we play as a whole as a defense we get better and better every week.”

On how the defense can keep from wearing down late in games:
“We came out this week and worked so hard to get well conditioned and everything. Make sure we are game ready for four quarters and not play three.”

On how to improve from last week on defense:
“Just staying focused, playing hard, playing technique sound, playing for one another. Not playing for yourself, but playing for the person next to you. If we stay together as a unit and play for four quarters I think we'll be pretty good.”

On his brother DaJuan Morgan, rookie safety for the Kansas City Chiefs:
“He called a couple of guys over to his house because they had a game that following night and they watched [the USC game]. He TiVoed it so he kept rewinding the interception and showing the guys on the team because he was so happy for me. The thing about it, he got an interception that night too.”
