Daniel Evans spoke after practice Tuesday about starting against William & Mary and how the offense can bounce back from its poor performance last week.

Daniel Evans Audio

On starting this week
“I don't think its going to be any different than last week as far as the week of preparation for me. Maybe getting a little more reps in practice but that's about it, I'm still going to prepare the same way. Like I've done the past two years, I don't think it will be anything different.”

On how the offense can improve
“We have to start making first downs. That's what coach was talking about, first downs produce touchdowns. You can't have the touchdown before the first down. As a whole and for me personally, just taking what the defense gives me and staying on schedule. Getting it in third and short, and second and manageable so that we have a chance to keep making first downs.”

On the slew of offensive injuries
“Since I've been here we've had so many of those things happen. Really especially the last two years its been the name of the game for NC State football. But somebody is going to have to step up – whether its an individual or whether its a group of people. Somebody is going to step up, I know they will, we'll be fine.”

On getting out to a quick start Saturday
“For our own confidence I think it would be huge for us to come out and really just move the ball well.”
