The Wolfpack (41-20) advanced to the Super Regional after winning the NCAA Raleigh Regional this weekend with a pair of wins over South Carolina and a single win over James Madison. The Pack clinched the title with a 2-1 victory over the Gamecocks Sunday night, for its third regional championship in school history.
Georgia (39-22-1) advanced after winning the NCAA Athens Regional Monday night with a 18-6 victory over Georgia Tech. It was the fourth regional championship for the Bulldogs.
The first game will be Friday at noon at Foley Field, Georgia’s 3,291-seat baseball stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN. Saturday, the two teams will meet again at noon in a game that will be televised on ESPN2. Sunday's game, if needed, will be at 4 p.m. and broadcast on ESPN.
All games this weekend will be available on the Wolfpack Sports Network, which can be be found locally on WKNC 88.1-FM and worldwide for free on Pack Pass, the audio/video portion of GoPack.com.
This will be Georgia’s third time hosting a Super Regional. The Bulldogs advanced to the College World Series in both 2001 and 2006 after winning Super Regionals at its home ballpark, Foley Field. NC State participated in one previous Super Regional in its history, losing two games to Miami in Coral Gables in 2003.
