NC State defensive tackle DeMario Pressley was selected in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft by New Orleasn. The Saints traded up to select Pressley, who possibly would have been chosen with the next pick by Cincinnati.

NC State defensive tackle DeMario Pressley was selected in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft by New Orleans.

The Saints chose Pressley with the ninth pick in the fifth round, the No. 144 overall selection in the draft. Pressley was the 10th defensive tackle picked in the draft and the fourth from the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Pressley, who was a true senior for the Wolfpack in 2007, is the second NC State player picked in the 2008 NFL Draft.

In 42 games at NC State, Pressley started 31 contests, 21 at right tackle, seven at left tackle and three at left end. He totaled 145 tackles (94 solos) with 4.5 sacks for minus-24 yards, 21 stops for losses of 56 yards and 14 quarterback pressures. Pressley forced a pair of fumbles and recovered another, and he also deflected three passes and gained three yards on two interception returns.

As a senior, Pressley was tabbed an honorable mention All-ACC selection after recording 38 tackles including six for loss and 1.5 sacks.
