Wednesday, January 2 (8:10 P.M.)
We really didn't do much on New Year's Eve. They've got a sweet player's lounge down here so we just hung out. I went to bed right after midnight because breakfast was going to be at seven and our morning practice starts at nine.

Tuesday's practices went pretty well. I thought I threw the ball well for the most part, and as the days are going on it's getting a lot easier. We're not settling into a rotation yet, but I think I'm going to at least be the starter for our team or the top reserve. What we're doing is just jumping in at quarterback whenever we're ready, and we're doing a couple of reps at a time.

The receivers are very good. They are a lot faster than I'm used to and all of them run great routes. Their speed hasn't been a big adjustment for me though. The big adjustment has probably been the speed on defense at cornerback and with the defensive linemen coming at you.

I'm also doing a lot more shotgun... all of our plays are in the shotgun, but that's been fine. It's been pretty easy. I wasn't too worried about doing a lot of shotgun if I had to. It's a lot easier catching the snap five yeards in the backfield and looking over the defense so I'm fine there.

It was cold down here today. The wind was blowing real hard, but I still thought the practice went well. Everything is clicking a lot more for the whole team. At the beginning, I think the defense had an advantage because they didn't have much to learn. They just went out and played. We're starting to catch up to them now offensively.

We only had one practice today because we did some prelims for the skills competition and went to Disney World. Before the quarterback part, they told us that four of the top six would make it to the finals of the Skills Challenge. It was something new to me. They had a golf court rolling across the field at different yardage marks, and the carts had big signs on them with blue targets that we had to hit for points. I think I finished first or second, but at the end they said all of us would be in the big event.

Disney World was good. It was real cold out there, but I went on a couple of roller coasters so it was pretty good. I hadn't been since I was two so it was good getting back, but it seemed like a lot of it was for little kids.

In between we are in the player's lounge watching games so I'll get to watch Sean [Glennon] play tomorrow night in the Orange Bowl. I haven't had a chance to talk to him since I've been down here. He's busy with his game, and I've been real busy down here, but I'll get to watch him play.

A quick look at the rest of the week... tomorrow we have one practice and we go back to the hotel before coming back out to do the Skills Challenge. Friday we will have another morning practice and then that night we'll go to an Orlando Magic game, and we have the game on Saturday.

I'll check back in on Friday...
