Heppe "Giving Him The Business"
"I can't remember losing one like this -- maybe in my first or second year at Boston College -- but these things happen in your first year sometimes. It was a tough day. It was a tough day for our seniors. But it is what it is and it's over with, so now we go to the future."
- Coach Tom O’Brien
No points, no win, no bowl for State
Chip Alexander * News & Observer
N.C. State's season ended Saturday much as it began, with a hugely disappointing loss at Carter-Finley Stadium.
Needing a victory over Maryland to become bowl-eligible, the Wolfpack was pounded 37-0 by the Terrapins in a game that was never close, never competitive.
Tom O'Brien's first season as the Pack's coach ended 5-7 overall and 3-5 in the ACC. While the Terps (6-6, 3-5) may be headed to the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise, Idaho, the Wolfpack must be content with a late-season four-game winning streak that included fan-pleasing victories over North Carolina and East Carolina.

Which is why starting in the three-games-in-four-days Old Spice Classic has been such a boon to the redshirt sophomore.
