RALEIGH, NC -- NC State players LeRue Rumph and Kalani Heppe met with the media today to discuss the upcoming game against East Carolina.

Kalani Heppe

"It's miserable. No one hates it more than us."

"The first part of the season was real rough, but we'll see how we come out. I'm looking forward to it."

"I think we've performed actually really well. We had to get used to a new o-line coach, a new head coach, a new offensive coordinator, and a new system."

"We've just got to go out there and get it done regardless... no matter who is back there."

"It's more defined. Coach Trestman, sometimes we ran the ball sixty times and passed fifteen, and sometimes we passed the ball eighty and ran four. You kind of have an idea of what you're going up against and what you're going to be doing."

"We played them pretty good last year. We had a real physical game against them."

"I wouldn't really call it a bad-blood game. I'd call it hard-nosed football."

"When you're 1-5, everything kind of ends up being a bad-blood game."

LeRue Rumph

"Everybody is definitely positive. It doesn't feel too good to be 1-5, but we have another six games to go out and prove ourselves to our fans and our coaches."

"It's an in-state game that starts the second half of our season. We definitely need to win. We see it as a rivalry."

"They have two good quarterbacks. One is a great passer and the other one can pass as well as use his legs. We have a double-threat this week that we need to contain."

"The basis of our practices were fundamentals... to get back to where we started, where we need to be."

"Football starts with fundamentals, and then you bulid from there."

"When you see some of the big plays we have given up this year, it breaks down to not being fundamentally sound. We get back to doing that right and we will be fine."
