NC State head coach Tom O'Brien announced today at the 2007 ACC Kickoff that lineman Gerard Miller and linebacker Avery Vogt have elected to transfer.

Their exact destination is unknown at this point, but it is believed that both will transfer to a lower-level school, possibly at the D-1AA level.

Vogt, who hails from Miami, Florida, was a young linebacker who saw most of his action on special teams in 20006. He was in for five snaps from scrimmage and 46 on special teams. Vogt played just four snaps on defense in the win over Boston College, but he tallied two tackles in those four plays. He saw action in all but the Southerm Miss contest.

Vogt redshirted during the 2005 season.

Miller, a native of Vanceboro, North Carolina, spent time on the offensive and defensive line during his career in Raleigh, but never cracked the rotations to receive playing time.

O'Brien also announced that freshman defensive lineman Gavin Smith has withdrawn from school. Smith redshirted in 2006 as a true freshman.
