NC State defensive tackle Demarcus Tyler was selected in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs chose Tyler with the 19th pick in the third round, the No. 82 overall selection in the draft. Tyler was the sixth defensive tackle picked in the draft and the first from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Tyler, who was a true senior for the Wolfpack in 2006, is the first NC State player picked in the 2007 NFL Draft.
In 2006 Tyler appeared in all 12 games, with 11 starts, and he totaled 49 total tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and a forced one fumble. He was a first-team All-ACC selection.
