Desmond Roberts apparently feels that he has done enough exploring as the 6-foot-5, 265-pound offensive lineman has solidified his verbal commitment to N.C. State.

"I'm finished with recruiting," said Roberts. "I re-committed to N.C. State today."

Roberts, who softened his pledge after Chuck Amato's dismissal, informed the Wolfpack coaching staff of his decision when head coach Tom O'Brien and assistant coach Keith Willis dropped by Northampton-West High School Tuesday afternoon.

"I just felt I was at home [at N.C. State]," said Roberts. "Me and the coaching staff got along real good, the players felt like family, so I felt that was my best option."

In addition to N.C. State, Roberts took official visits to Virginia Tech and Penn State. He has supposed to officially visit North Carolina this weekend, but that trip has been canceled.

Scouting Report: "Desmond Roberts is a high school center, but I am not sold on his potential at the position because he may be simply out of place there. The combination of his height and very long arms could move Roberts out from the cerebral position to one of the other places along the line. Still have to love that versatility. Needs to add weight to be college ready, but knees are already buckling a little with his current size. Has a tendency to play with his hands low." -- Scout.com Recruiting Analyst Miller Safrit
