Since measuring in at 6-1.5, Smith continues to grow adding that he is now in the 6-3 to 6-4 range and still able to put that combine speed to work. If accurate, Smith is a very dangerous threat on the outside and will give the Pack plenty of room to stretch the field with his size, speed, and ability to make plays in the air.
So how did the Pack reel in such a talented player? Persistence.
Smith has attended the NC State summer football camp since he was in the eighth grade. NC State was the first school to offer. He has visited NC State for unofficial visits more than any other school.
Obviously, there are still a lot of questions to be answered about his potential. What happens when he gets more than 20 catches a year or how will he fit in with the solid nucleus of wideout talent already on the Pack's roster, perhaps the deepest position on the team? Those are questions that will be answered and with the leadership Smith has shown throughout the process, it looks like the answers will come up roses for the Pack.
