How important is speed in recruiting?
Speed is awfully, awfully important, but we can't forget about toughness. We can't forget about people that are football players. If we were just looking for speed, we'd go to track meets. If a guy can fly and he does all those other things, that's what everybody is looking for.
Thoughts on FSU linebacker Buster Davis:
Dantonio Burnette... he's just hard, tough, smart, physical and intimidating. He plays so daggone hard. He's been playing there for about 20 years it seems like. He's really good. He's really good. The last couple of years some people may not have noticed him because of Sims and Nicholson, but boy is he good. Everybody would love to have six of them like him.
Thoughts on if NC State is developing an identity:
I told you after the Boston College game, that's only one win. It was a huge, huge, huge win. It was just one. Now, what are we going to do now.
Thoughts on which defense is the real NC State defense:
No one talks about the defense in the first game and the defense in the second game for three and a half quarters. They showed up pretty good. A year ago, Southern Miss right out here whacked those first round draft picks around. The only thing that saved us were sacks on the quarterbacks. We challenged our kids with that. Guess what? They whacked us again. That's a good offensive line. That's an extremely good offensive line.
Are you anxious to see how Daniel Evans handles the FSU defense?
He's our quarterback. It's going to be interesting to see. It's only his second start. He proved his worth in the last 46 seconds [of the Boston College game].
Let's see what happens. We'll see what happens.
