The Pack Pride crew has been hard at work digging up tidbits and morsels of information for our latest edition of "The Scoop." Here’s a sampling of what you’ll find in this issue.

NC State landed its fifth commitment of the 2007 football class last week when Sam Jones verbaled to the Wolfpack. Where does Jones project and just how talented is this in-state prospect?

Virginia prep stars Jay Smith and Tyrod Taylor planned to visit NC State last week but did not make it in. Have they rescheduled and where does NC State stand with both of them?

Two other out-of-state products that NC State is very high on are Ohio teammates Solomon Thomas and Alex Kaufman. The interest is definitely mutual.

Dan Werner

Keep an eye on Coatesville (PA) defensive end Derrick Morgan. He plans on visiting NC State in the near future and is a major target for the Wolfpack.

Dan Werner is currently in Raleigh for his final visit before making a decision. NC State is a factor, but one SEC program has really, really made a push.

What is the latest with Jamelle McMillan?

Iowa State transfer Farnold Degand visited NC State last week and is currently on the campus of UMASS. Is the Wolfpack really a factor for Degand?

Is NC State still pursuing Eneil Polynice?

Two basketball prospects expected to be on campus this week are Johnny Thomas and Dorenzo Hudson. One of these talented players is closing in on a decision, and NC State is in great shape.
