Emanuel Cook is one of the more versatile prospects in the state of Florida and he has a visit scheduled to NC State for next week. While an SEC school is his leader, the Pack has a great opportunity to make a positive impression.

The 5-10, 220-pound prospect from Palm Beach Gardens High School in Florida has spent time at running back, strong safety and linebacker.

"Different schools are recruiting me to play different positions. NC State really wants me to either play strong safety or weakside linebacker. Other schools are recruiting me for offense. I really don't care where I end up, just so I can play."

Cook has offers from NC State, Ole Miss, Rutgers, South Carolina, Arizona State and Minnesota. One school stands atop his list.

"Ole Miss is my favorite right now, just because I've visited them and I know more about them. I had a real good time over there. They have good fans and a good coaching staff. I think they're going to have a good team down the road."

On the season Palm Beach Gardens is 9-1. Their next game is Friday in the second round of the state playoffs. In his last game Cook rushed for 154 yards (including a school-record 99-yard touchdown run) and forced a fumble. What does he like about NC State?

"They've built a reputation for playing great defense up there," said Cook. "I feel like I'd really help them out against the run. I like to play physical, and I come off blocks well. I've got the speed to make plays in the backfield. I know a couple of guys up there real well. Willie Young and DaJuan Morgan are good friends of mine, so I'd know people going into it. I'm going on an official visit to NC State on Nov. 25. I think I'll have a real good time."

Cook has also scheduled official visits to Rutgers (Dec. 3) and South Carolina (Jan. 3). He plans on waiting until after his visits to make his decision.
