Early Offense plays key part in Pack Win

The second inning looked promising from its outset, as Matt Mangini and Caleb Mangum were issued back-to-back walks by UNCW starting pitcher Zach Booker. Shortstop Jonathan Diaz then hit a sacrifice bunt, advancing both the runners and making the first out of the inning. A wild pitch from Booker brought home Mangini and allowed Mangum to move to third. Leadoff hitter Matt Camp then laced a ball high into the starless night, which subsequently fell into center field after being lost in the lights by the Seahawk outfielder. The play was ruled a double, as Camp walked into second base and Mangum trotted over home plate to give the Pack a 3-2 lead.

Punishment for miscues isn't any more severe during NC State's on-going spring football drills. But it is a lot swifter.
Anyone who commits a penalty or turnover is required to immediately take off on a sprint to the opposite end zone. In the past, those sprints were reserved for after practice and who made mistakes ran collectively.
