After completing their senior seasons, NC State signees Brandon Costner, Ben McCauley, and Courtney Fells are set to play in a host of All-Star games in the upcoming weeks.

Brandon Costner, a 6'9 combo forward from New Jersey, will be playing in the McDonald's All-American game held on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the University of Notre Dame's Edmund P. Joyce Center in South Bend, Indiana. The game will be televised on ESPN at 8 p.m. (EST).
Forward Brandon Costner will play for the East in the McDonald's All-American Game Wednesday night.

Costner will be the fourth McDonald's All-American to play at NC State under head coach Herb Sendek, joining former Wolfpack players Damien Wilkins and Scooter Sherrill and current star Julius Hodge.

As a senior, Costner averaged 19 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in leading Seton Hall Prep (30-1) to a state title. He scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the 48-40 victory over Christian Brothers Academy. Costner also led the Pirates, ranked sixth nationally by USA Today, to a 63-60 victory over St. Patrick's in the Tournament of Champions. The Wolfpack signee scored 31 points and snatched ten boards in the win.

In the McDonald's All-American game, Costner is expected to play power forward for the East team.

Costner will also play in the Derby Festival Basketball Classic, an Adidas-sponsored event held on April 16th in Louisville, Kentucky at Freedom Hall.

Courtney Fells, a 6'6 wing from Mississippi, was named Gatorade State Player of the Year last week after an outstanding senior season for Shannon High School.

Wing Courtney Fells will likely take an unofficial visit to NC State this weekend.

Fells averaged 23.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists this past season, as he was also named to the All-State team.

The talented wing will be playing in this weekend's Commonwealth Classic, held on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.

"I'm playing in the Commonwealth Classic, and it's on April 1st," Fells said when asked about playing in the game. "I'm just excited to be able to play in any game. It didn't really matter to me which all-star game it was."

"I wanted to play in the McDonald's game, but I don't think people saw enough of me," he added. "It doesn't really matter to me though. I know I can play with all of those guys."

Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at the door. Pack Pride will have exclusive coverage of the Commonwealth Classic, including photos, quotes and video from the event.

Ben McCauley, a 6'9 power forward/center from Pennsylvania, was named Post-Gazette Player of the Year this week after averaging 28.8 points and 16.5 rebounds as a senior.

Ben McCauley will play in the Capital Classic.

The Yough High star inked with NC State in November over offers from programs such as Cincinnati, Xavier, Virginia, and West Virginia.

McCauley will be playing in the Capital Classic All-Star game which will be held April 22nd at George Mason's Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia.

This year the Capital Classic will be without its primary sponsor. Nike, the Classic's primary sponsor the past three years, started its own game, the Jordan Classic, which will be played in New York City at Madison Square Garden.

The Capital Classic will revert to its original format this year: U.S. All-Stars vs. Capital All-Stars in the main event, and a local game between the District All-Stars vs. the Suburban All-Stars. McCauley will be playing for the U.S. All-Stars. The gametime has not yet been announced.
