NC State signee Jeremy Gray recently competed in the Alabama State Class 6A Track and Field championships, and finished with two gold medals.
Alabama Runners: AHSAA State 6A Track and Field Championships
Gray was one of the top overall performers at the track championships, where the defensive back prospect finished:
1st in 300M Hurdles
1st in Long Jump
2nd in 400 meter dash
3rd in Triple Jump
Although his prep track career is now over, Gray will have one final football game as an Alabama high school standout. Saturday night (June 5th) Jeremy and a team of Alabama All-Stars will play the Mississippi All-Stars at 8 PM EST at Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Net and game analysis will be provided by The Insiders recruiting analyst Jamie Newberg.
StateFans Evaluation: Mr. Smooth... it's that simple. Jeremy just glides across the field and is a big-time playmaker. He's a tough, physical corner who at a legit 6'3 loves to play press coverage. Likes contact and is a natural knee-bender who will come up and stuff the run. A terrific athlete, he has great speed and the ability to make up ground in a hurry. Playing in an aggressive Opelika defense, he's familiar with the coverage NC State uses and has very good technique. Can cover the slant and fade routes effectively, and uses his hands well off the line of scrimmage. If he keeps growing then he could end up at free safety in college, but I love his upside at cornerback. A great pickup for the Wolfpack who is fully qualified to play as a freshman.
