Florida Commitment "Ready" to Visit NC State
Four-Star Safety Tony Joiner committed to the Florida Gators late last year but has decided to take one final official visit to make sure that his decision is the right one. "I committed to them because I believe in the system after their loss to Florida State. When I went up for the visit and met all of the guys, I knew that was the place I wanted to be." After giving an early commitment to Florida, rumors began that Joiner may not be firm and would likely take visits. We asked the star safety if this was the case. "Oh, I'm still solid to them, but I'm taking visits. I only need to take two... the Gators (OV- 1/9) and North Carolina State (1/23)." Tony will take his final visit this weekend to NC State, a school loaded with Florida athletes. Apparently, word has made it's way back to Florida that the Wolfpack is definitely a team worth checking out. "I'm ready for this one because I heard so much about this visit. J.R. Bryant, Bobby Washington, Willie Young... all of them guys told me about going up to NC State. I'm ready to check them out for sure." Joiner who has over a dozen offers from some of the top programs in the country, canceled a scheduled LSU trip. Although he's solid to Florida right now, he likes what he's seen from NC State. "Every year they've been in the race with Florida State and they have a great head coach and coaching staff. Coach Demarest is a great coach and he's been really after me. He's let me know that I'm his main man... his ace." Could an outstanding visit to Raleigh change Tony's decision? For right now, he's not speculating one way or another. "I'd rather not say right now. I'm just going to let everything go and see what happens. We'll just have to see how things are after the North Carolina State visit."
