What did you try to improve on? It looks like you really trimmed down a lot.
I’m trying to work on my conditioning, and just being able to be on the field more and help my team out any way I can

Technically, was there anything you really felt like you needed to work on?
My pad level and just my overall conditioning, and being able to play harder in the fourth quarter

Tell me a couple of younger guys that may have caught your eye?
Bradley Chubb. He’s a freshman linebacker. He’s a really good player. He makes a lot of plays for us.

Also, Justin Jones. He’s a three-technique, just like me. He has a lot of potential

Is this a big opportunity for you with the experience to go out with a big year for you, Art Norman, T.Y. McGill, and Mike Rose, as well?
I think we’ve got a lot of experience at the D
line. We can show everybody in the country that we are a good D
line. We could be one of the best in the country if we keep working hard.

Give me one reason why you would feel more optimistic about this team right now as opposed to last year at this time.
This team has just got a different feel about it. Last year, we were all just feeling out the coaches and everything. This year, we know the game plan, and we know how to execute it.

What are you seeing from the offense?
They’ve just got more confidence in themselves. They know the plays very good now, and they’re just playing hard.

Have you noticed anything different in the offensive line?
Yes. They worked hard in the offseason, gained weight, and it has made a difference in the running game for them.
