NC State could have potentially as many as four scholarships available for the 2016 recruiting class so the Wolfpack is expected to pursue a bunch of prospects, and several targets are on Scout.com's updated list of top 75 prospects, which has been released.
Giles, a 6-foot-9 forward out of High Point (NC) Wesleyan, continues to work his way back from an ACL injury he sustained last year. He holds offers from NC State, Duke, and North Carolina among others.
Maker is one of the best prospects in the class. The 7-foot, 200-pounder is a skilled big man capable of playing on the perimeter. He is being recruited by nearly every school in the country, and the Martinsville (VA) Carlisle product recently visited Duke.
Smith is one of the biggest risers in the class, as he's jumped from No. 25 to No. 6 and is currently the top point guard in the class. The Fayetteville (NC) Trinity Christian star grew up a NC State fan and has taken multiple unofficial visits in the last couple of weeks. He also holds offers from Duke, North Carolina, and Florida among others.
Simmons was the latest of this group to land a NC State offer, as he added one this summer. At 6-foot-5, he's a long point guard prospect capable of creating for himself and others.
Other current and potential NC State targets in Scout.com's Top 75 list include: No. 25 C Edrice Adebayo, No. 27 SG Jamal Murray, No. 29 SF Rawle Alkins, No. 30 PF Miles Bridges, No. 38 SG Curtis Jones, and No. 63 C Trevor Stanback.
