"Pete has been a great teammate and a very positive representative of NC State Athletics,” said Doeren. “I have really enjoyed coaching him and want him to be successful as a player and in life. Going forward I will do anything I can to help him through his transition as a transfer. He will be missed as a teammate, player and person in our locker room."
Peter Thomas, a communication major, played in nine contests, including six starts, for the Wolfpack in 2013. He finished the season ranked ninth in the ACC in passing yardage per game with a 185.2 mark and in total offense with 203.3 yards per game.
A native of El Cajon, California, Thomas started 21 games at Colorado State from 2010-11 before transferring to NC State.
“I want to thank Coach Doeren, my teammates and all the fans,” said Thomas. “I have great respect for this staff and I believe they will turn this program around. I’m proud that I will earn my degree from such a great university.”
