REPORT: UNCA Transfer Visiting NC State

According to a report, UNCA transfer guard Keith Hornsby is visiting NC State on Sunday.

"Rising junior Keith Hornsby was given his release by head coach Nick McDevitt, the Bulldogs' long-time assistant who replaced Eddie Biedenbach in April.

"The 6-4 guard averaged 15 points and 4.2 rebounds last season and shot 37.9 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

"Hornsby's father, musician Bruce Hornsby, said Keith had received feelers about transferring from other schools and that he was visiting N.C. State on Sunday and Monday."

Hornsby would sit out the 2013-2014 season and then have two years of eligibility remaining.

He played 34 minutes in UNC Asheville's 82-80 loss to NC State last November. Hornsby finished with 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting (4-of-6 3s). He is also totaled four assists and two steals.

NC State is also in the mix for Alabama transfer Trevor Lacey.
