New Mexico Junior College standout guard Desmond Lee has officially signed with NC State. Lee signed his letter of intent Wednesday afternoon.

"I faxed my papers in about five o'clock," said Lee. "It feels great. It's really a blessing to know that I'm going to finally be running with the Pack next year."

One of the top junior college players in the country, Lee averaged 20.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. The 6-foot-4 guard shot 43.3% from the field, 76.8% from the free throw line, and 33% from three.

Lee's play led to interest and scholarship offers from several schools, including Creighton, Miami, Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado State, Duquesne, NC State, Virginia Tech, Baylor, Washington, and Illinois among others.

"As the process went on I picked up a lot of offers and was recruited by a bunch of great schools," said Lee. "The hardest part with all of this was having to tell those schools that I was going somewhere else.

"But, I found what I was looking for at NC State. I spent a lot of time talking with my coach and my family about it, and it hit me that NC State was the best place for me."

"When I went on my visit, coach Moxley and the rest of the coaches made me feel at home," he added. "I loved everything about NC State."

Lee, who will leave New Mexico JC on May 9th, will spend a couple of week at home in Norfolk, Virginia before attending summer school at NC State.

What type of player is NC State getting in Lee?

"I feel like I'm a complete guard," he said. "I take pride in being able to do everything well. I feel I'm a good shooter, a passer, a driver, and I want to play defense."

Lee is NC State's fourth signee in the 2013 recruiting class, as he joins Hampton (VA) point guard Anthony "Cat" Barber, Hyattsville (MD) center BeeJay Anya, and Minneapolis (MN) forward Kyle Washington.
