NC State, North Carolina, Maryland, and Duke have all played their mid-week games, and the potential ACC Tournament seeding possibilities are clearing up for the Wolfpack.

Miami already owns the No. 1 seed, and Duke clinched the No. 2 seed with their Tuesday night win over Virginia Tech. Even if the Blue Devils lose their season finale they will still have the No. 2 seed due to the win over Miami.

Remaining Schedule For NC State And Competing Teams
Team Current Record Mid-Week Game Weekend Game
North Carolina 22-8, 12-5 ACC W: UNC 79, UMD 68 DUKE
Virginia 20-9, 10-6 ACC @Florida State MARYLAND
NC State 22-8, 11-6 ACC W: NC State 81, Wake Forest 66 @Florida State

North Carolina defeated Maryland 79-68 and has locked up a first-round ACC Tournament bye. The question is, will the Tar Heels be the No. 3 or No. 4 seed?

NC State remains in contention for a first round bye with the 81-66 win over Wake Forest, but the Wolfpack needs some help. However, they can't finish below the fifth seed where they would likely face Virginia Tech or Wake Forest.

Here are the remaining tiebreakers and scenarios for the Wolfpack.

Tiebreakers
With Virginia: Lose tiebreaker due to 0-1 head-to-head record

With UNC: Win tiebreaker (currently) due to 1-1 record against Duke while UNC is 0-1. Since the two teams split head-to-head, the tiebreaker rules stipulate that you go down the ACC standings from top to bottom comparing records against teams until one team has an advantage.

Both teams went winless against Miami, so the process moves to Duke next. If UNC beats Duke in the regular season finale, they would move ahead in the tiebreaker due to their win over Virginia since both teams would have a 1-1 record against the Blue Devils.

With UNC and Virginia: Lose tiebreaker due to worst combined recorded against the two opponents. UVA (2-1) would be the three seed, UNC (2-2) would be the four seed and NC State (1-2) would be the five seed in such a scenario.

Scenarios
NC State will be the 3rd seed if:
1. NCSU defeats Florida State AND Virginia finishes 1-1 (or 0-2) AND UNC loses to Duke

NC State will be the 4th seed if:
1. NCSU defeats Florida State AND UVA finishes 1-1 (or 0-2) AND UNC defeats Duke

2. UVA finishes 0-2

NC State will be the 5th seed if:
1. All unlisted scenarios
