Warren: "That's Our Goal"

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State sophomore forward T.J. Warren met with the media to discuss Saturday's game with North Carolina.

T.J. Warren

How big would it be to sweep UNC?
It would be big for the program to sweep Carolina twice in a year. That's our goal and that's what we want to try and do.

Are you building momentum?
I think we are. We're trying to peak at the right time and get as many wins as we can.

How confident are you right now?
My confidence is still the same. I'm going to go out there and play hard defense, rebound and make plays.

What will it be like playing against guys you know?
It should be a lot of fun. [I've been] playing against those guys for a long time, so we're going to play hard and compete.

How do you go through the ups and downs?
Just try to stay positive, keep a smile on my face and keep playing hard. Different nights it's going to be different guys so I just have to break through that and play hard when I'm out there.

Did Tuesday reward that?
I think so. I had a good performance so it was pretty good that night.

Are you hitting your stride as a team?
Yes we are. The chemistry is getting better. Tyler has been playing great. We're just trying to work with that and everyone just keep playing hard.

How important is this game for ACC Tournament seeding?
I heard there's a three-way tie. We just have to, like I said, win as many games as we can coming into these last few weeks.

What did UNC's comeback show last time?
It just shows that [they are] a pretty good team. We kind of let up on the gas at the end. This time we want to step on their throats and keep pounding them.

Both teams have changed since the last game...
It'll be interesting to see how it works out for both teams changing the lineups and stuff. We'll see what happens.

Does it seem like the game was a long time ago?
It feels like it was last week.

How much different is it playing on the road for you?
It's way different. The fans at PNC are very supportive and playing on the road is very tough. I had to learn that the hard way. The road is tough.

It's just the environment, just a different environment. The gyms might look a little boring. You just got to stay focus and be ready to play when it's time to play.

What is it?
I don't know exactly what it is, it's just a whole lot different from playing at home. When you're at home you're just so amped up to play at home. I don't know what it is.

Which road games did you feel comfortable?
Pretty much all of the road games I didn't feel comfortable. It's just a different environment then playing at home.

Just staying focused when I'm on the road and when I'm at home.

Have you talked a lot about it with Rodney and Tyler?
Yeah we talk a lot. We try to go down there and play through the ups and downs.

What is the difference with PNC Arena?
The fans are great. It's very loud. It brings a lot of excitement when you get on the floor.
