Recruiting Scene: Tocho proved to be a typical Tom O'Brien recruit. He was an under-the-radar type that followed the Earl Wolff path to NC State by putting together a stellar performance at NC State's summer camp.
Measured at 6-0, 183 pounds, Tocho ran a blistering 4.43-second 40-yard dash in front of the Wolfpack coaches, a staff known for historically slow 40-time measurements.
After one on one drills the Pack wasted no time offering and Tocho needed just a few days to make the decision to commit to State.
Even after the coaching change in November, Tocho remained solid and never visited any other schools.
Why NC State? "Honestly, I've always liked NC State and knew a lot about them even before now," said Tocho. "I was waiting for a big offer like that and when it came from them I wanted to take it."
Picked NC State Over: offers from UNC-Charlotte, Ball State, Army and Air Force.
Scouting Report: At 6-1, 180 pounds Tocho has great size for a cornerback. With legitimate 4.4-second speed, Tocho has all the measurables for a division one caliber athlete. He still needs work with technique but has upside. It's certainly possible Tocho could end up at safety depending on how the other Wolfpack defensive backs project. - Pack Pride Recruiting Analyst Steve Williams
