The Demon Deacon staff has been on a roll lately in the Sunshine State. They've received commitments from three Florida players (Michael Stevenson, Lance Virgile, and Wendell Dunn) in the month of December alone. It didn't come as a big surprise when Sean Paul, a defensive back from Vero Beach, proclaimed his top three schools with Wake Forest in the running.

"I'm down to Louisville, Wake Forest, and N.C. State," said Sean Paul. "I've already visited Wake Forest and had a great time there, but I want to visit the other two before I make my decision. I'll be at N.C. State on January 11th and Louisville will be my last. I'm not sure yet when I'll go to Louisville, but definitely before signing day.

"With Wake Forest, I've stayed in contact with Coach Ray McCartney and Coach Duffie. I love the academics they offer and the fact I would have an opportunity to play early. When I was there the weekend of the UNC game, I felt very comfortable with the coaches and the players. The comfort level I have with the program is a big factor for me when I make my decision. The fact that they have so many other Florida players on the roster made me feel at home."

Paul helped Vero Beach Senior High to the second round of the Florida 8A playoffs. Football along the Treasure Coast is some of the most competitive in the country. Whoever lands Paul will be getting a player with seasoning.

"It was a great senior season," Paul said. "I had four interceptions, many pass breakups, a pick six, and a few forced fumbles. I got my film up [online]. I think this was my best season. As a team, we went 9-2, which was pretty good, but lost to East Lake in the region semifinal."

Wake Forest hopes the early September visit will resonate with Paul after he takes visits to Raleigh and Louisville. The coaches see him as a lock-down cornerback who can come in and make an immediate impact in the secondary or on special teams.

"I'm probably going to announce close to signing day now," Paul said. "It will come sometime after my last visit. It's important to me to be in a nice, friendly atmosphere where I can make make the most of my college experience. I want to go to the best place to advance not only my football career but academic career as well. I'm planning on getting a degree in business. I'm going to evaluate all of that after my visits then make a decision."

Recently, new Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops has made a big push to get Paul on campus. At this time, he's unsure if he will take the trip and will likely focus only on his top three schools.
