RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State head coach Mark Gottfried discusses the Wolfpack's win over Stanford on Tuesday night.

"It as a good win for our team. I think Stanford is going to win a lot of games this year."

"The first half the key, I think our defense generated out offense again. We were able to get some steals, deflections that generated our fast break."

"Scott Wood had a stretch there that was really important for us and for him - to get back on track offensively and shoot it really well."

"We are a team that's getting better."

"[Howell]'s getting double-doubles every night. 17 and 12, he's really been a force in there."

"Lorenzo tonight - best game he's had this year. The difference for him tonight as opposed to some early games is that when he got into the paint and penetrated he was on balance, he was under control, he came out of there with good shots - higher percentage shots."

"He's just becoming a consistent, reliable guy that is playing so much differently right now."

"I thought he played well all night. Aaron Bright is not very tall and I thought Lorenzo used his length."

"He slowed down... I thought defensively [Brown] was pretty good too."

"We set a couple of really good screens for [Wood]."

"Stanford pressures you a little more than people realize."

"I thought a key for us tonight was how well we could defensive rebound... they are good in that. They do a good job of using their length."

"I wanted to play Jordan in the second half... Jordan Vanderberg was really good and we need to use him more... Tyler was good in the first half, but again in the second half I didn't use him as much."
