CLEMSON, S.C. -- Several NC State players met with the media following the Wolfpack's loss to Clemson.

Mike Glennon

“I knew they had a real powerful offense. I knew that we were going to have to score a lot of points. Obviously, we didn’t score enough.”

“Tobais [Palmer] and Mario [Carter] really showed up today. Tobais has been patient all year. Finally, today, he got to show what he can do. Some of those catches Mario had were extremely impressive. Mario has great hands. I think they played a good game.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever been a part of something like that. We’ve been in situations before when we’ve been down. In the first quarter, I believe we were down, I believe 13. Next thing you know, we’re up 24-13.”

“They started the game off playing a little bit differently. They tried to change it up and play a little bit more man on us. In those situations, receivers just have to make plays. We were able to do that a few times. I think our wide outs did a good job of going to get the ball and did a good job of making plays when they had the ball in their hands.”

Shadrach Thornton

“We’ve got a great quarterback. We have a great o-line. All I had to do was just read the holes, really, and run the ball hard.”

“I just know I’ve got the man to the front of me and the man beside me. As long as I’ve got my team, we can really go through anything.”

“We’ve just got to keep fighting. We’ve got to finish off the season strong. We have another game at home, on senior night. We’ve just got to take it to them.”

“It’s all about heart. Whoever wants it the most, whoever can put out the most -- that’s what it’s about.”

“I love him. I really do. Every time I asked [Palmer] to give me a good play, you know what he did? He went out there and gave me a big play. He kept fighting. He’s a senior. He wanted it. He wanted it. That’s a guy that I can say he truly wanted it. And he went out there and did what he had to do.”

“If we had a game tomorrow [the seniors] would suit up and be ready. They’re ready to shake back from this.”

“It was a rough game. Offense got some points. The defense played terrible. Too many mental errors, too many missed tackles. We didn’t play well. Sixty-two points, that’s ridiculous. That should never happen.”

“They have a lot of playmakers. I don’t even have to watch the film to let you know what happened on defense. A couple of long passes, there was just missed communication between the DBs and linebackers. It was a bad game.”

“Honestly, I feel like we’re ready to go back out and play tomorrow. We just want to show what we’re capable of. We know we’re capable of playing way better than that. That should never happen.”

“I’ll take the blame for a lot of plays. The offense came to play. Defensively, we gave up way too many big plays, way too many. Seven hundred yards of offense, that’s crazy.”
