RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State head coach Mark Gottfried met with the media to discuss the 97-59 win over Miami (OH).

"I think defensively at times and for some stretches we were pretty good. I thought we really showed a lot of quickness defensively."

"I thought the game within the game was they were going to try and press and trap and create some chaos."

"It was a very unselfish performance by our team."

"It was a good start for us."

"I think they all did a lot of things well. I liked our interior passing... Richard and Calvin kind of set the tone and played very unselfishly."

"The lights are on and the popcorn is popping... I think all three freshmen had some nice moments as well."

"I thought they did fine when they were on the floor together."

"With our team we've got four starters back and Rodney and T.J. are both guys that could start for us."

"I told both of those guys that we've got six starters. I'm just not allowed to start six."

"A lot of times when another team is subbing they might drop just a hair but we're coming in with T.J. who is going to give us some scoring."
