Scouting Report : Hood is a running back with a special blend of size and speed. One of the first things you notice when watching him on film is how hard he runs. While the Charlotte Catholic star has bruising running style, he is also a patient runner and does a good job following his blocks. Hood also does a nice job running behind his pads, gets a lot of yards after contact, and has good top-end speed. He has quick feet and very good instincts. Overall, there are few running backs in the country that are as physical as Hood, regardless of class. You could also make the argument that Hood is having the best season of any high school football player in the state of North Carolina. He has rushed for close 2,300 yards and 35 touchdowns. With a deep playoff run, he has a chance to break the school record of 2,600. There is little doubt that he is not only one of the top running backs in the 2014 class, but one of the top players overall.
