The team voted to elect quarterback Mike Glennon to represent the offense and linebacker Sterling Lucas to represent the defense.
"Being elected by their peers is testament to the leadership that these two young men have shown," said head coach Tom O'Brien. "Not only have they worked hard throughout spring practice and in our summer workouts, but Mike and Sterling have also already earned their degrees."
Glennon posted the second-highest single-season touchdown pass tally in school history last year, his first campaign as a starter, with 31. He earned his degree in May of 2011 and enters his final season ranked among the nation's top quarterbacks.
Lucas was forced to red-shirt in 2011 after suffering a knee injury in preseason practice. He came back to earn the starter's job at middle linebacker heading into fall practice, which begins tomorrow afternoon.
