Cypress Bay (FL) standout Matthew Dayes visited NC State today and felt he was ready to make a decision. The talented tailback committed to the Wolfpack coaching staff while on his trip.

"I just committed to NC State a little while ago," said Dayes. "I was on a visit there and just really liked the coaches. I saw all the facilities and the academic support staff seemed great. All of that made me want to go there."

A 5-foot-9, 200-pound tailback, Dayes rushed for 484 yards (74 carries) and five touchdowns as a junior. He also held offers from West Virginia, Cincinnati, South Florida, Boston College, and Kentucky.

Heading up the recruitment of Dayes was Wolfpack defensive coordinator Mike Archer.

"I like coach Archer a lot," said Dayes. "He has made me feel comfortable about NC State.

"We've talked about the school and how I would fit into the offense. I think it is a great fit for me."

Pack Pride will have more from Dayes on his decision in the near future so stay tuned!
