According to sources close to the situation, NC State center Deshawn Painter will transfer for personal reasons.

Painter, who hails from Norfolk, Virginia, is entering his senior season. He will have two years to play one season but could receive a waiver to play his final year in 2012-2013 due to his personal issues.

The 6-foot-9, 231-pounder averaged 6.4 points and 4.3 rebounds this past season as the Wolfpack's sixth man.

State will add back 7-foot-1 redshirt junior Jordan Vandenberg, who missed the 2011-2012 season with a shoulder injury. The Wolfpack is also in the mix with five-star recruit Amile Jefferson, and junior college big man Andrew Young.
