NC State signee Rodney Purvis was on 620 AM with Mark and Mike this morning discussing the Wolfpack and his play with Upper Room in the 2011 HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational.
Rodney Purvis Interview
"It's kind of mind-blowing, everyone knows about you. Everything about you is on the Internet. Someone doesn't even really have to know you like that and if they go to the Internet they can find out everything they want about you."
"At halftime I didn't really eat before the game and at halftime my stomach started hurting a little bit... I came out a little sluggish but we came away with the win and that's what is important to me."
"I talk to Lorenzo and C.J. maybe once or twice a week so our relationship is really good. I love the fact that they come to support me at my games. It shows they really care about me."
"It's a blessing."
"I have a huge family and we're all from this area. After I had my in-home visit, my family was sold on NC State. I've been kind of sold on NC State ever since coach Gottfried got the job."
"I'm definitely happy with the decision I made."
"There can be a school that you really like and once you go visit the players may not interact with you and that can kind of turn you away from that school."
"I know at NC State the players really wanted me to join their team... I never felt alone, someone was always talking to me. I just felt at home once I was over there at NC State's campus."
"Not really, at this stage... Amile Jefferson, I talk to him every now and then, and I think we're trying to get Ricardo Gathers, that's about it. At this stage, I feel like if we don't have them by now I don't really think we're going to get them because it's so late."
"I guess those other guys are trying to take their time like we did."
"It's cool. Once I committed there was definitely a huge relief off me."
"Knowing the fact that I was apart of something that could be really good."
"I really love to talk to people just like at the game last night I talked to a group of kids for about an hour. That's the best part of it. I love talking to people."
"They can expect someone who will come in and not take plays off... someone who wants to win and compete... a person who is proud to be a part of the North Carolina State Wolfpack."
